Kathryn Pepper
Bethel Christian School Director, Teacher for the Monday-Thursday four year old class
I graduated from the University of Delaware and have Delaware Teaching Certifications in Elementary Education, Special Education and Physical Education. I taught Special Education and third grade for nine years in the public school system. I had a home preschool for four years when our girls were small and then began Bethel Christian School with Keri Faircloth, Kathy Benson, Mary Maurbito and Judy Shulze in 1997, when our youngest daughter, Hannah was ready for preschool.
As a teacher, I love how children can learn anything that is presented in a fun, interesting way. I love how eager children are to learn and am always amazed at the kindness and love they share with their friends. I love spending time with children and love being part of such an important time in their lives.
I have been married to my husband George since 1988! We have a daughter Jen, who lives in Boston with her husband Matt. Our daughter Rebecca, graduated with a B.A.,in History Education and a B.A. in Art History from the University of Delaware. Rebecca played five years of Field Hockey at UD and ran two seasons of Track and Field. Our youngest daughter, Hannah graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education, with a Special Education emphasis and a Disabilities minor. Hannah played Field Hockey for two years at UD and competed three Indoor and Outdoor seasons on the UD Track and Field team, as a Heptathlete. Rebecca now teaches Art at Mainer Middle School and Hannah team teaches first grade in Milton.
I love to spend time with my family, watch my girls compete, travel, help my husband with his teams, garden, read inspiring books and ride my bike around beautiful Lewes!

I have been teaching at BCS since 1998. I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and am married with 2 sons and a daughter. Some of my interests are cooking, reading and traveling with my family. I also love doing anything outdoors including biking, gardening, camping, hiking and even mowing the grass!
When asked what I like about teaching, I have to say that I just love children! I love the funny things they say, their openness and their innocence. I love watching their faces when they are learning something new or listening to a story. To see their faith grow from that of a 2 year old who has no concept of God to a 5 year old who truly loves and trusts Jesus is unbelievably rewarding.
I’ve had many jobs over the years including Crisis Intervention and social work at Stockley Center and Child Protective Services. I NEVER imagined that I would be a teacher one day. Honestly- children used to scare me a little! About 20 years ago I realized that I was pretty good at story telling. God helped me find a way to put that ability to good use. Now I can’t imagine doing anything else.

I am married with two daughters. I have worked at Bethel since 2010 with the two year old children. Prior to Bethel I taught at a Montessori school in Pennsylvania. I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and boating. I love spending time with family and traveling with my daughters' dance competition team. Both my daughters are former students of BCS. They are exceptional students, as a direct result of the educational foundation they received from BCS. Bethel goes above and beyond the standard curriculum and challenges each child to achieve his or her own goals. I am proud to be part of the Bethel family! |

I have a bachelor's degree in Geography from UMBC. My husband Kris and I have two daughters, Heidi and Bridget. I began working at Bethel when Heidi started in the three year old class in 2002. I love to travel and I love art, from wood burning to painting and carving. I'm always crafting something. I love seeing the children get excited about what they are learning and if I can instill a love of books in each of my students, I am happy. Some may not know that I know sign language and was in the sign language choir called Hands in Harmony for 15 years. I also worked as an analyst for the National Security Agency for 17 years. |

I'm a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School with a Bachelor of Science degree from Salisbury State College and a Master of Instruction from the University of Delaware. I retired from 37 years of teaching in the Cape Henlopen School District, where I taught mostly Kindergarten and for two years taught first grade in the Lewes and Milton communities. I was given the pleasure of teaching the first full day Kindergarten class in the Cape Henlopen School District.
As a teacher,it's exciting to see the world open up to young children as they enter school. The progress they make throughout the year, as they explore and learn is amazing. Beginning to read is a thrilling experience for them!
I'm pleased to join the team at Bethel Christian School. As a member if Bethel United Methodist Church and a resident of the Lewes community, I've watched the school grow and become a respected preschool and Kindergarten in this area. I look forward to working with the four year old children and preparing them for Kindergarten.
